Fanny Jimenez is Chief of Staff at Business Insider Germany.

Vita

Fanny Jimenez gained her first journalistic experience at the Berliner Zeitung and in children’s television (ARD/RBB) and studied psychology and neuroscience in Berlin and the USA. She conducted research at the International Max Planck Research School on the Life Course and received her PhD in 2010 from Humboldt University in Berlin, specializing in the psychology of personality and social relationships.

As part of the Science Journalism Initiative at TU Dortmund University, she subsequently completed stints at WELT, Stern, and Deutschlandfunk; texts by her also appeared in Spektrum der Wissenschaft/Spektrum Psychologie, Gehirn & Geist, and Psychologie Heute.

From 2012 to 2018, she worked as science editor at WELT/Welt am Sonntag. From March 2020 to August 2023, she headed the Career, Life & Knowledge department at the business magazine Business Insider Germany, moving into management there in September 2023.

In August 2016, her book „Ich und my Spleen. Was wir tun, wenn wir allein sind“ (Me and my Spleen. What we do when we’re alone) in the C.H.Beck non-fiction series, which was reviewed in numerous media outlets, including Deutsche Welle, Deutschlandfunk Nova, Emotion, Bayrischer Rundfunk, You FM, Schweizer Radio & Fernsehen (SRF), WDR 1 live, SWR2, Antenne Brandenburg, FINK Hamburg, Antenne Bayern.

She has taught business journalism at the BSP Business & Law School Berlin – Hochschule für Management und Recht. She also appears as a speaker and interview guest, on topics such as the essence of man, time management & procrastination, skills shortage & job market, artificial intelligence & labor market or diversity as a tool for success.

Fanny Jimenez is host of the psychology podcast „NEVER MIND – Psychology in 15 Minutes“.
