Based in Munich, Germany, Robert Gast is a science writer covering Physics, Astronomy and the exploration of the solar system.


Robert Gast, born 1984, received a Master of Science („Diplom“) in physics from Heidelberg University in 2010. He has been working as a science journalist since then. He has published many articles about science and technology in prestigious German newspapers and magazins, for example in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, the ZEIT and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. He has won several awards for his work, for example the European Science Writers Award (Junior category) and the Georg von Holtzbrinck Preis für Wissenschaftsjournalismus (Junior category). Currently he works as an editor for the monthly popular science magazine Spektrum der Wissenschaft (the German edition of Scientific American).
